@chuckthewriter.blog My short thread about a recent experience with Liberty Mutual canceling my home owners after they used outdated, erroneous public photos to do an underwriting "inspection."

Attached: 2 images Damnit! Well my day just got fecked up. Got a letter today from Liberty Mutual Insurance.My home owners insurance is cancelled. This is bullshit. #Insurance (Edit, removed dates because my anger read it as June 30 and not July) Based on the reasons in the letter, they must have used old satellite photos and old public Zillow or real estate for sale photos because it mentions: *Roof, poor condition, but we had a new roof installed, along with fascia boards, in 2023. It was a total rip out so only one layer now. *Gutters- no downspouts— We had new seamless gutters installed at the same time as the roof *Furnace oil tank rust: When the new energy efficient furnace was put in in 2021, we had a new, modern tank installed. All of those items they listed as reasons makes me think they, or their underwriting AI program, used old, public photos of the house, inside and exterior. Nobody came, esp to do an inspection of the inside oil tank in the basement. The letter has no directions on how to dispute and prevent them from cancelling. It just says I can request a copy of the report they relied on and dispute. No directions, phone number, etc. #ConsumerRights #Consumer #Legal #Law #Ohio #ConsumerProtection #LibertyMutual .

I am wont to do these names one at a time by one post at a time, but I in awe about how bad these corporations are in the first place. I last posted individually about #libertymutual who pays money to #foxnews and here are a few more in this thread....🧵

Fuck #LibertyMutual and really fuck the entire private insurance system.

"The reason for non-renewal is: The property insured under this policy is located in a region where the dwellings are considered to be too densely concentrated for us to continue to provide coverage”

Why would you want to insure the places people actually live? It’s way cheaper to insure places where there’s nothing of value!

Big Insurers like #Chubb, #LibertyMutual, and #Sompo have the power to stop this project by refusing to insure it and all #methane expansion.

They have a responsibility to listen to #Indigenous and impacted #communities and make crucial changes for people and the #planet by publicly ruling out methane and #RioGrandeLNG immediately, before the insurance renewal on March 2024.

We need meaningful #ClimateSolutions before it’s too late.

‘Yet their prices keep going up’: Geico lays off 2,000 workers. So does Liberty Mutual. Why?

'They are losing so much money' In a reflective TikTok video that has attracted nearly 300,000 views, Matthew Layson (@matthewlayson) sheds light on the recent streak of layoffs in the insurance industry. His detailed analysis, titled “#geico #libertymutual #layoffs #insurance,” begins with some startling statistics: “So, Geico laid off about 6% of their workforce, 2,000…

I cringe at every #LibertyMutual commercial I have the misfortune to experience.

To the CEOs and senior management at #AIG, #LibertyMutual, #LloydsOfLondon, #SwissRe, and #ZurichRe
... it's important
that insurers remember that climate change is a real and, apparently accelerating thing; that we cannot afford to open up any more fossil fuel wells or mines because what we already have open still represents too much carbon dioxide and methane to bequeath to an already over-hot atmosphere;
that offering insurance to these projects is in effect allowing them to go ahead;
that when it comes to people being charged for crimes against humanity, enablers of such crimes also bear criminal responsibility.

Ads/commercials don't work with me. In fact, they drive me away.

Ask yourself: Who pays for all the Liberty Mutual Insurance commercials? Answer: The people who buy #LibertyMutual insurance policies, that's who.

So why should we patronize any business that spends inordinate money on ads and commercials, which drives UP costs for its customers? To me, it's a no-brainer. Don't.

Ads and commercials inform me, yes. They inform me who NOT to patronize.
