A picture taken earlier today, of a #Swiss🇨🇭#tram in #France 🇫🇷: this is a #Stadler Be6/10 #Tango, operated by the #Basel region #BLT group. It’s seen here on a BLT line 10 “tram-train” working for #Rodersdorf, heading towards its next stop at #Leymen 🇫🇷 in #Alsace. This is Europe’s longest international tram line, they say.
Pictures of #Stadler #Tango vehicles, taken earlier this week along the western branch of the #Basel🇨🇭#BLT #TramTrain line 10, around #Ettingen. Dubbed “Bähnli” by the locals, this is actually an international service: about 5 kilometres down the line, the tram makes a stop at #Leymen in #Alsace 🇫🇷.

Three cantons. Two countries. One tram.

Weather absolutely shite.

Out on the bike 🚲 today along the #Basel🇨🇭area #BLT Birsigtalbahn, Europe’s longest international tram line they say. I’ve actually taken all these pictures in France 🇫🇷: the cycling route follows the line and passes right in front of #Leymen’s beautiful tram (or train) station.

🤔
Das eröffnet ja Möglichkeiten....

A day out on the bike in #Leimental valley, southwest of #Basel🇨🇭along the international #BLT tram line 10. At some point the line passes through #France, stopping at #Leymen 🇫🇷. #Rodersdorf🇨🇭is the terminus station of the “Bähnli” and home to a small #Birsigthalbahn tram museum.
#Basel🇨🇭SBB tram station in December 2015 with a westbound working on #BLT line 10. Called “Bähnli” by the locals, this is Europe’s longest international tram line, serving 3 Swiss🇨🇭cantons and #Leymen in France’s Alsace 🇫🇷. #Schindler tramcar 102 on this photo was built in 1971.

A hike this afternoon to #Rodersdorf🇨🇭 south of #Basel - and returning by #BLT (i.e. Basel region transport authority) line number 10, or the “Bähnli”, as the locals say. This is Europe’s longest international #tram line (making a stop at #Leymen in France 🇫🇷). Rodersdorf shed is home to a nice 🚃 collection.
@dominicstucki Love these statistics!
And I think, #Basel’s BLT line 10 is also Europe’s longest international tram line - is crosses into France and makes a station stop at #Leymen there.
Belgium’s #Kusttram tram line is certainly longer - as it does the entire length of the Belgian coast - yet it isn’t an “international” one: its eastern and western termini are on Belgian soil (although only a few hundred meters away from the Dutch and French borders).
