I took myself on a light hike yesterday because the sun was supposed to come out and we never know when that's gonna happen again in the Pacific Northwest at this time of year.

I chose the off leash trail so I could meet some dogs and gain a bit of elevation for my heart rate. Muddy, but worth it. After that, I decided I wanted to walk around the lake, too.

Early bike ride to Lake Padden this morning for sunrise. Wasn't quite feeling the long exposure would do much. So I decided to snap some ICM photos in between taking photos of the fog. I mostly came to the lake to check the autumn colors and some peace. Happy to get one of those! Looking forward to finding the other soon!

So, I got up this morning and biked over to #lakewhatcom for sunrise. I do like that I don’t have to get up at 3am for that anymore. Totally stoked for the autumn colors coming in the next few weeks.

I found this… circle of stones that were creating this focus point for me that I just loved. I hoped I could get the angle similar to a previous shot I had gotten at #lakepadden a few weeks ago but I wasn’t liking the forced perspective.

This last weekend I did something I’ve never done before. I took photos of a meteor shower, the Perseids meteor shower to be specific. My gym buddy had asked if I was going to photograph the meteor shower. Considering that was the first time I had heard of it, I confidently said “yeah, sure…”
