Things which are not meteors but might look like them for a split second:
* Satellites
* Stars out of the corner of my eye
* Car lights glinting off the neighbour's TV aerial
* Seagulls

The Perseid meteor shower is often the most spectacular meteor shower in the Northern Hemisphere due to frequency as well as its appearance in summer. Here's how to photograph it! Find Dark Clear Skies Find the darkest skies you can, away from light pollution, preferably with large open spaces to view the night sky. Obviously, you also want to find a place with as few clouds as possible. Typically, they peak in August. However, you can see plenty of meteors on other nights surrounding the peak. The most important thing is that you have dark, clear skies, preferably when the moon is not out.

On this last Sunday of August, I thought I'd share some images that I've taken over the summer as I look forward to the autumn colors here in the #pnw. Can't wait to get out and take more photos here in #bellinghamwa during that time! Next planned shoot is the #supermoon this week! Already scouted the spot with @photopills app. Hopefully its not overcast/smokey.

So, what do you do when the screw that attaches from your tripod to your tripod head drops into the tripod?
If you guessed 'curse and wonder if there is a god', that would have been my first reaction.
My second reaction was to find some rocks I could prop my camera up on to take the shot I was wanting.
I was at Lake Padden scouting the location for my #perseidsmeteorshower shoot I was going to do. So I was mostly here looking for angles and wasn't too disappointed.
This last weekend I did something I’ve never done before. I took photos of a meteor shower, the Perseids meteor shower to be specific. My gym buddy had asked if I was going to photograph the meteor shower. Considering that was the first time I had heard of it, I confidently said “yeah, sure…”
