Film #30 of Hooptober X: In SPAAAAAAAAAAAAACE I remember seeing a very small portion of Lair of the White Worm while staying up late at night on a beach trip as a kid. I didn’t remember very much about it, just something about a woman in a cave with a man where a sacrifice was possibly about to happen. That (and the unforgettable VHS cover art) stayed with me for years as a movie I kind of wanted to see, but I was never sure why. How I didn’t know I was queer at 12 is beyond me. Because oh
not at all topical but also catchy
it's funny to me reading about the making of this film. it sounds like Ken Russell was so interested in making something campy/funny that neither the actors or the press got what he was doing.
