Sigh and sigh again.
Watching the Labour Party's buyers' remorse over finagling Starmer into place. Remembering how the right-wingers bleating at us "but you have to win power" only now to realise you also have to have transformative policies or else just having power is a busted flush.
Meanwhile, having driven out those who understood and advocated transformative policies, they're looking like rabbits in the headlights as they realise that their defaults are not fit for the times we're in.
Now they are starting to understand the need to repent, they haven't the imagination or time to do so effectively. The British tragedy is ever to have the wrong leaders in place when the crisis comes.
And the crisis is here, in slo-mo. More on the way.
A dedication to individual wealth accumulation is nowhere near a sufficient basis for coming out of social scale crises with a modicum of success.

Can Starmer last much longer? "The 126 Labour MPs who signed an amendment to block the cuts represent the biggest challenge to his authority to date — and government whips chose to make that explicit, warning would-be rebels this was a confidence issue that could force the PM to resign.
The fact such threats only increased the size of the rebellion cannot fill him with confidence: nor will the public interventions from Labour’s best-known regional magnates, London Mayor Sadiq Khan and Greater Manchester’s Andy Burnham, both thought to aspire to his job."

😯 In an astonishing U-turn, the #PrimeMinister said he was supporting the recommendations of an independent report into child sexual exploitation by Baroness #LouiseCasey, being published in the next week❗️
➡️ Starmer had previously rejected calls by the #Tories and #ReformUK for a national inquiry, insisting instead on implementing the recommendations of a previous inquiry into child sex abuse by Professor #AlexisJay⁉️
