Yesterday, I introduced you to the Kolmannskuppe ghost town. You can actually also enter those buildings.

Some of them have been cleared of sand. Though most of them are partially filled with sand blown in from the desert, giving them a very special atmosphere.

Kolmannskuppe is a former diamond mining town close to the costal town of Lüderitz in southern Namibia.

Active until the 30s, it's a ghost town today that has partially been reclaimed by the Namib desert around it.

During the years 1908 to 1913 the area mined over a metric ton of diamonds. The town had plenty of amenities with electricity, running water and an ice factory to stock the fridges in every house.
