The Lion Hub & Cafe is in great need of YOUR help to ensure The Lion Hub is able to continue.
The Hub supports all ages within Kington and the surrounding areas along with providing a safe space to many groups, U3A, Kington Walking for Health, Kington Community Forum, Stitch N Natter, Carerlinks, The Food Share, SEN growing together, AgeUK Digital Desk, Boarder Chess Club and HVSC Veterans group. In addition we also run our own groups and activities for families. Many of these services we do not charge for as we don't want to create barriers for people to use them.
We are The Talk Community Hub for #Kington and can support, signpost and refer to additional services.
The Lion Is on the market and the only way we can continue is to purchase the building. We have set up a GoFundMe page to help raise the deposit to purchase the building. We are also open to individuals, charities or groups who may be able to offer a long term loan.
We will be putting on lots of community events to help raise the money and would like to ask you to support them please.
I would like to be clear that no funds will be drawn from the just giving account unless the sale goes ahead and if we are not successful in the purchase all donations will be returned (minus GFM fees).
If you require any further details, please send a private message.

One of the highlights of attending the Kington walking festival is the random stories you hear from the locals. During the 60’s an unexplored bomb was found on β€˜smasher hill’ close to New Radnor. The locals carried it down the hill and put it in the back of a car - one of the boys was told to sit on it to avoid it moving around in transit. They drove it to the police station and handed it in. The army arrived and took it back and blew it up. #Kington #Bomb #NewRadnor #WW2 #WalkingFestival
A decent length walk for day two of the Kington Walking Festival. Kington to Pembridge following the old branch line shut in the sixties. The highlight being the walk through the valley at Mowley Wood, owned by the Bulmers family. #Bulmers #Kington #WalkingFestival #Pembridge #Trainline #RiverArrow #Herefordshire
The Kington Walking festival started with a bang last night with an early evening walk across the Radnor Hills, finishing with a pint in the Harp Inn, Old Radnor. Cracking views across the area and somehow we managed to dodge the showers. #Kington #OldRadnor #Walking #walkersarewelcome #Marches #History #WallkngFestival #Beer

Kington Walks Spring Weekend

Kington Walks Spring Weekend is a walking festival in April to give everyone a chance to experience the glorious countryside at a different time of year. Think daffodils, bluebells, wood anemones,...

Walkers are Welcome Town - Kington

Friendly and relaxed with a network of trails, medieval walled alleyways and intriguing buildings, Kington is a great place to explore and hang out. Boots and backpacks are commonplace and lying in the Welsh Marches, it has more long distance paths converging on a town of its size than anywhere else in the UK.

Walkers are most definitely welcome in Kington.
