CoffeeGeekI wonder if everyone out there knows just how small the Kalita Wave 155 glass brewer is.
I thought it was much bigger before buying one a few years ago.
Look at it side by side with the small Origami Flower brewer, intended for the same filter. Or the V60 No.2 brewer. It's tiny! And surely a pretty big difference in brew profile. (IMO, the Origami gives the better extraction: less bypass).

This is entirely a #coffee nerd problem, so bear with me. 😅
Because I appreciate the difference between brewing a cone filter in both a V60 and an Origami dripper, I'm finding myself wanting to get a Kalita dripper to see how different a wave filter tastes between the dripper it's designed for and an Origami.
I need someone to talk me out of buying YET ANOTHER DRIPPER, or someone to convince me that it's a good idea to buy another one. 😂

So here are my #coffee brewing notes, a brief chronicle of figuring out how to make my #KalitaWave work for my ideal daily pour. Still a work in progress but it's a satisfying little ritual.
NatyThis morning's coffee from April Coffee Roasters. El Tesoro, Colombia, Tabi variety, washed process.
5.5 clicks 1zpresso ZP6-Special, Kalita Wave filter paper, Origami dripper with Lilydrip Lotos.
TBT: 2:50. 13g: 210ml. 50ml bloom for 35s, then three equal pours to the end with small swirls in between pours.
Red apple crispness and sweetness.

I don't do branded coffee or flavored coffee. For me, mornings are usually an #espresso (#LaPavoni espresso machine, #OrphanEspresso Pharos grinder). Afternoons are either #FrenchPress, #KalitaWave, #HarioV60, or #icedcoffee in the #AeroPress. The beans are usually an #Ethiopia #Yirgacheffe, but I also have some from #Guatemala & #Colombia that I'm playing with.
@fred I do #KalitaWave, #Aeropress, #HarioV60, #FrenchPress, & #espresso with a #LaPavoni. My grinders are a #Pharos & a #Lido 2 from #OrphanEspresso. I roast my own #coffee on a #QuestM3, but I'm not as good as a good professional roaster, just cheaper.
#Portland should have some pretty good local roasters. Has there been any change in #Stumptown after their acquisition?
