Ex-Alabama correctional officer sentenced in assault of restrained inmate and cover-up

A former correctional officer in Alabama was sentenced Tuesday to more than seven years in prison for using excessive force on an inmate and lying on a report in an attempt to cover it up, federal prosecutors said.

A cousin of #BlackLivesMatter co-founder died after #LosAngeles #Police repeatedly tased him last week, acc to police body-camera footage & his family's account. #KeenanAnderson, a 31yo high school teacher & father, was trying to get help after a traffic collision when he was chased, held down by multiple officers & tased for over 90 seconds as he begged for help.
