The family of Boeing whistleblower John Barnett has settled a lawsuit against the aircraft maker. Barnett killed himself in March 2024 after days of questioning about his allegations of major safety concerns at the company.
The family of a former Boeing quality control manager who killed himself after lawyers questioned him about his whistleblowing has settled a lawsuit against the airplane maker. Details of the settlement over John Barnett’s death were not disclosed in a court filing Monday. Barnett was a longtime Boeing employee and reported what he thought were jumbo jet defects to the company, After Barnett retired in 2017, he shared his concerns with journalists. Boeing says in a statement that the company took actions several years ago to review and address the issues that Barnett raised.
