Health insurance companies in America have mostly stopped covering GLP1 drugs such as Wegovy and Ozempic •except• for people who are actually diabetic. This is due to the extremely high cost of such drugs.

This is bad for public health, since GLP1s are effective for the millions of pre-diabetic Americans with metabolic syndrome; they reduce the chance of developing Type 2 diabetes and heart disease. They are also effective weight loss drugs, which has other health benefits as well.

So once again working class Americans will pay with their lives for the greed of Big Pharma, health insurance companies, and the oligarchs.

@ausgroucho @teadrinker Crazy that someone who once dragged her own children through the courts expected to snag Hancock.com.au on the cheap. Months of legal threats just to avoid paying market value — she’s hoarding every dollar like it’s coming with her to the afterlife.
