本好きの下剋上 has been my comfort read and means of getting back into reading Japanese novels. If I had the whole day to read I would have finished this already but post-work exhaustion grants me only so many hours to study for the JLPT, read, and do other hobbies. This week’s word of the week has been 簀桁 ☺️
A few days ago I started 本屋さんで待ちあわせ by 三浦 しをん, essentially a book for book lovers since it has essays related to books. It has chapters about different themes like 本の話と漫画の話 and 本が教えてくれること which have different sections that are quite short.
So far I've already added +10 books to my want-to-read shelf in goodreads so I recommend the book especially to find more Japanese books !
Finished the book プラナリア today and I have to say that out of the 5 stories I really liked the first one that mentions the プラナリア.
I didn’t like the last one that much and neither the third one but the rest were good.
They were all somewhat depressing and gloomy since it's a book about women that are somewhat lost in their lives and either working odd jobs or not working at all while trying to get by, aimlessly. I must say I liked the theme a lot!
