We told the politicians, when they were standing for office, that housing - homes for the homeless, council houses, a sufficient supply to flatten the disgraceful growth of house prices - was our central concern. Since the election, I haven't heard one word - from any politician - about the question that lit the flame of such incandescent rage #Housing #Ireland #IrelandElection
Ireland dodges bullet as Dublin voters narrowly reject gangland boss

Gerry “The Monk” Hutch led through 10 nail-biting rounds of vote counting — but Ireland’s EU heavyweight knocked him out at the final bell.

Subsequent to my last statement, turns out that the Monk lost on the last count in Dublin Central thanks to transfers from Mary Fitzpatrick of Fianna Fáil to Marie Sherlock of Labour.

Not for the first time, I'm incredibly glad we have PR-STV instituted in our electoral system. Saved us from a huge embarrassment; it's still embarrassing that he was allowed to run in the first place, though.

Two days before the #IrelandElection (#GE24 #irishpolitics #irelandvotes ), there is at least one person, Paschal Donohoe, who has been given a lot of visibility campaigning for their party but who is not a party leader. Donohue is part of what party? (guessing encouraged)
