ChipThat was a great looking movie. The set design, the eerie glow of the saucers, the aliens, the strangely gothic winding path up the hill, the condom hall. The military stuff let it down in the middle but it came back strong.

I think of the bubble-based sci-fi environments from my childhood, and I wonder how many were inspired by this film. And sets made of inflated condoms.
Okay so we only imagine that Mars has mu-tants, we absolutely don’t know that they’re hostile, and we’ve built a matte painting rocket to kill them all. Have I got that right?

A fun but rather weak finale but I am real happy to have done it. 30+ films without any rewatches was just what my Blu-ray collection needed.
Tomorrow I will rewatch "Halloween" (1978) at the cinema. Can't wait.

Hooptober X: 32/32 - Tobe Hooper! Of COURSE I wanted to finish off Hooptober in style with a film by the man himself. And I wanted to end it on something fun and light so why not a Canon film for kids by the man who did The Texas Chainsaw Massacre?
