Privacy for Agentic AI
Sooner or later, it’s going to happen. AI systems will start acting as agents, doing things on our behalf with some degree of autonomy. I think it’s worth thinking about the security of that now, while its still a nascent idea.

I think it’s worth thinking about the security of that now, while its still a nascent idea. In 2019, I joined Inrupt, a company that is commercializing Tim Berners-Lee’s open protocol for distributed data ownership. We are working on a digital wallet that can make use of AI in this way. (We used to call it an “active wallet.” Now we’re calling it an “agentic wallet.”) I talked about this a bit at the RSA Conference...
Trying #Solid pods right now. Failing. Signed up at #Inrupt's #PodSpaces. Somehow can't use it to login into Liqid Chat, doesn't give me a pod URL. Tried signing up at inrupt.net instead. "Registration closed" once you sent the form... Got a pod at solidweb.org instead. "Unauthorized" when trying to log in with it. solidcommunity.net shows errors on its register page...
Finally managed to log into the PodPro app with Inrupt's PodSpaces.
I guess some apps aren't super well maintained?

This technology, and the complete rethinking of data storage/ownership (as it was originally intended) has the very strong potential to solve many of our current problems, essentially all stemming from #BigTech's ownership of _our_ data.
@marzee nay, let’s not capitulate the definition of the future web to just blockchains. web 3.0 would be catch-all for what’s coming next.
Solid is about data portability, decentralization, and consent. you can host your own pod on prem, if you must have absolute control! but imho if wide adoption and support is desired, something more turnkey for the average user is more practical. this shouldn’t be the enemy of progress.

Anytime we #create something and put it out into the world, we relinquish control over what the world does with it.
