"Enough snow to shovel and plow is forecast to spread from New Mexico and Colorado on Friday to Massachusetts and Maine by Sunday, impacting over 200 million people. It could be the biggest snowstorm in years with a large area having the potential to receive 6 to 12 inches of snow, with accumulations reaching 24-30 inches in the hardest-hit areas.

" 'It is rare that storms combine this much snow, ice and bitter cold over such a large area — a widespread travel-halting winter storm will stall daily life for days in large portions of the central and eastern U.S.,' AccuWeather Senior Vice President Evan Myers said."

Um, #IceStorms predicted for #CentralUS and #SoutheastUS. Luckily, folks in #Maine only have to deal with 16 inches of snow (!!!). But still. My heart goes out to anyone who is unhoused and can't find shelter -- wherever they are. And, well, #FEMACuts and cuts to #SocialServices and #FoodBanks are NOT helping the situation!

I haven't been able to be online much this weekend. #Icestorms. Power outages. Cell service outages. Northern #Michigan looks like Armageddon backwash. 90% of my entire township was in the dark this morning. Yet with temps tonight forecasted to be around 15F, guess who's here with additional linemen crews?? #Canada. 😶 I am grateful. And ashamed. They are better neighbors than we are, despite everything.
