I really enjoyed @Felienne's narrative about narratives about Computer Science yesterday. She applied some of the ideas presented in the Glaciers, Gender and Science paper (https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/0309132515623368) to her experiences in the Computer Science / Programming Languages communities. She's also starting a reading club to brainstorm the meaning (and the name?) of the field of "Computer Science".

Yesterday at ICT.OPEN I also attended a panel discussion on "Bridging the Gap between Research and Industry through Application-Oriented AI Innovations"

It was mostly academics in the room, but I had an interesting chat with Dr. Floor Campfens and my colleague Dr. Anna Lukina afterwards, where we talked about the research done at RIWO, and of course our research at TU Delft.

After learning how much power text-to-image generation requires, and after talks on digital sustainability I got a new way to score points with the audience with my talk, "Shadow IT mindsets of corporate employees".
