Schwere Überschwemmungen an australischer Ostküste
An der Ostküste #Australien's sind nach heftigen Regenfällen in den letzten Tagen ganze Landstriche überflutet. Besonders betroffen sind die Kleinstädte #Taree in der Weinregion #HunterValley und #Wingham in der Region #MidNorthCoast. Das betroffene Gebiet liegt rund 300 Kilometer nördlich von Sydney.
Mehr als 80 Schulen blieben geschlossen. Es kam zu Stromausfällen. Meteorologinnen und Meteorologen sagten derweil bis Freitag weitere starke Niederschläge voraus. Der staatliche Wetterdienst warnte vor „lebensgefährlichen #Sturzfluten“ in einigen Regionen.
