This government refused to take meaningful actions for the last 5 years to stop the price gouging and profiteering from private companies, and it seems they're not planning to start now.
We should have price controls for essentials like energy and heating. We can already see the price gouging as a result of the US-Israel war in the middle east.

We had a powerful #AffordableIreland march today calling for an emergency winter payment.
This has to be the start of people getting organised in communities around the country. We know people power works from forcing the government back on the SNA cuts. We need everyone to come together to fight this austerity government.

Last night a landlord government rammed through a bill literally designed to makes rents skyrocket.
Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, and Healy-Rae / Lowry independents are pushing people even deeper into poverty, egged on by the landlord lobby Independent Ireland.
This will result in even more people being forced into homelessness, and people struggling on the edge with already rip-off rents being pushed over.
This isn't normal. We can't allow the government to make it normal.
We need an eviction ban, a reinstatement of the tenant-in-situ scheme, and a state construction company to build pubic housing!

It's not rocket science.
The housing, cost of living, and healthcare crises exist because the government represents those that profit and enrich themselves from them.
We must unite against FF & FG, now propped up by the Lowry/Healy-Rae fake independents.
We must fight for an ecosocialist alternative.
This really is a cruel government.
It's farcical that people must face the prospect of becoming homeless AGAIN just so that they can access the newer rate of homeless HAP.
This must be fixed, so that nobody else is faced with this situation!

This FF-FG-Lowry/Healy-Rae landlord government will only ever rule in their interests. We need rid of them.
It is their political choice to make people homeless.
We need State Construction Company to build housing without the profiteering. Bring the vacant homes into use. We need real protections for renters - not these new pretent ones from the government, that benefit landlords.
