Hoobs auf dem RPi war seit Jahren iwie kaputt und hat keine Updates mehr geladen, daher lieber gleich zum Original greifen 🤓
Und die Home-App war beim (frühzeitigen) Update auf die neue Home-Architektur kaputt gegangen und ließ keine Einladungen mehr zu…
Nur ein bisschen nervig, ewig in der Wohnung jedes Gerät zu finden, zurückzusetzen und wieder einzubinden 😅

I run #HOOBS on a #RaspberryPi so that I can integrate Google #Nest into #HomeKIt. Why HOOBS? I found the plugin method for Google authentication easier than #HomeAssistant

Earlier today, I had to regenerate the authentication credentials because they’d expired. It was a faff, and I even revisited trying Home Assistant in case the plugins had found a simpler way of resolving the problem Google has created - no, was my finding.

Stumbled upon Starling Home Hub. A seemingly expensive (for what it is) but very simple plug n play method of integrating Nest stuff into HomeKit. Wondering if any of my tootsphere have invested in one? Is it any good? Shipping to the UK adds another 25% to the price, and I can’t afford to spend £105 on a whim!

I know Matter is on it’s way, but it’s not going to be retrofitted to older Nest products, and I don’t intend on replacing almost a dozen cameras or four thermostats just to get HomeKit support!

J'ai installé #HOOBS ( @homebridgeio simplifié ) sur le Raspberry Pi.

Maintenant le ventillateur #Dyson, le robot aspirateur #Xiaomi et le Ring Intercom sont tous contrôlable depuis #HomeKit ! 👌🏻🙂

I wasn't able to use my #HOOBS v3 backup as a configuration restore on my v4 new build. I'm guessing that's because there have been major changes between the major releases.

Thankfully, configuring v4 from scratch was a lot simpler than when I first built v3.

Docker HOOBS v3 on Synology now stopped.

Nest authentication was my historical biggest challenge, but this Chrome Extension really helped.
