Managed to install msodbcsql on #Ubuntu 26.04. My old method did not quite work, but ended up taking it from the 24.04 repo and had to install extra keys. MS have changed their key so that caused some issues.

I only need this to run some queries against a database that clones data from the #Hive blockchain. That is quicker than accessing the chain directly, but there is an alternative way I have yet to try (no time!).

Anyway, I have some sense of achievement :)

Someone was able to create a #scrobbling app (like last.fm) that stores the data on the #Hive #blockchain where it can live forever. There are browser plug-ins to log stuff. They are doing other media like books and movies that you enter manually. You can create short 'snaps' or posts from it. This reduces my dependence on centralised services.

Tough times in the #cryptocurrency world, but #Hive is not just about what I can earn. It is a platform with more freedom than some. Anyone can build on it.
