Very happy to share a new #emacs package I have been working on for my #hexcrawling #sandbox #ttrpgs.

I know there are some excellent hexmap-drawing tools out there but none matched my needs, or did too many things, so I made my own: https://github.com/Matt-Int/hexmap.el

Best thing about it in my opinon? No more worrying about corners on a page or getting to the edge!

This looks pretty interesting for those who want to start getting into #DnD #Hexcrawling. The more people learn about this style of gaming, the better! A nice little introduction to this style by @KoboldPress

I am slowly coming to understand that long distance travel campaigns and wilderness exploration campaigns are fundamentally opposing concepts.

The kinds of maps you have to prepare require completely different structures.

While I do love the idea of big expeditions going on months long journeys, there's just so many more things about establishing a presence in a strange area that are fascinating and compelling.

I've taken an interest in #SoloRPG dungeon crawling games lately. #NoteQuest is nice, but combat is a bit simplistic in my view. Looking at #FourAgainstDarkness now which looks promising. The fact that you have four chars and not just one allows for more depth. I also backed the #2d6Dungeon Kickstarter which has another week to go - it seems to have the best combat system. #D100dungeon also looks great and has a supplement for #HexCrawling, which also interests me.
