Why AI Agents are either the best or worst thing we’ve ever built

There’s a new #HannahFry thing about The Future on BBC iPlayer. She is delightful in much the way that Stephen Fry is, only more so.

"I built an AI agent. She opened a shop selling novelty mugs, emailed a journalist without being asked, and then leaked our passwords to a total stranger.
AI agents don't just answer questions - they act. They can browse the web, send emails, and spend your money. Anyone can build one. So my friend Brendan and I did.
We gave it a bank card and a few weeks to show us what it could do."

An interesting and accessible look at #OpenClaw and #AIAgents by #HannahFry.

I only wish she:

1. Changed her SMTP server to not actually spam everyone.

2. Referred to the agent as "it" instead of "her".

3. Didn't end with "these things are getting better fast" when nothing is being done about the fundamental underlying flaws with this entire methodology.

Fascinating short video about Copper nanotubes by Dr Hannah Fry
This could video could benefit from alt text as it displays an image without explanation.
The thing is that nanotubes is generally abbreviated to NT. The symbol for Copper is Cu. Bear in mind that English is not the first language of the Chinese scientists who wrote this paper. They could have abbreviated Copper nanotubes to NTCu, but instead they decided to put Copper first. So we now have CuNTs as the abbreviation.
