So, #fediverse, I'm relying on your expertise. My mum and dad found two photo albums in #KelvinGrove in #Brisbane / #Meanjin in the early 1970s. The photo albums show the life of a British couple that were living in #Hankou (and possibly #HongKong) in the late 1930's and early 1940's including photos showing the aftermath of air raids over Hankou in WWII.
With the help of reddit, I was able to identify the couple in question, however, they did not have any children and have no living relatives that are interested in the albums.
So, my question is, what can I do with these albums? I've talked to a couple of organisations that have digital photo archives, but they all said it might be many years before they get scanned and uploaded. And if that's the best I can manage, that's where I'll donate them, but I feel like surely I can give them a better home than that.
CW for one of the images - it shows buildings burning after an air raid
