Proprio no. Gli Stati Uniti...

Trump: "The Strait of Hormuz? we don’t need to worry about that, Europe should handle it.”

Washington, March 21 (askanews) – The United States does not need the Strait of Hormuz – through which passes the majority of global oil and gas traffic and a considerable amount of commercial cargo on the East-West route – but Europe and the Far East do. This was stated by US President Donald Trump during a press briefing with reporters outside the White House. Trump emphasized that so far, European NATO allies have not wanted to provide support in a potential security operation of the Strait, blocked by Iranian bombardments in retaliation for the large-scale air attack launched by the US and Israel against the Islamic Republic.
"We are doing very well there. Overall, we are doing very well," Trump said, "you know, we don't use the Strait (of Hormuz) – not really. The United States... We don't need it. Europe needs it. Korea, Japan, China and many others. So they will have to take care of it a little."
“It’s a simple military maneuver, relatively safe,” he maintained, “but a great deal of support is needed, meaning ships are needed, and a certain operational capability. NATO could help us, but so far it hasn't had the courage to do so, and others could also give us a hand. But, you know, we don’t use (the Strait of Hormuz). You know, at some point it will open on its own.”

Iran says it will allow Japanese ships to transit the Strait of Hormuz

Japan sources 90 percent of its crude from Middle East and is heavily dependent on exports transiting the key waterway.

Benjamin Netanyahu proposes developing oil and gas pipelines linking Gulf states to Israeli ports, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz and Bab El-Mandeb.

This statement comes amid Gulf crises caused by the ongoing US Israeli war on Iran, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and the resulting global economic disruptions.

“Whipsaw Effect: Trump Again Signals Off-Ramp as Ground Troop Build-Up Continues”

by Simplicius in Simplicius’ Garden of Knowledge on Substack

“Now all kinds of catastrophic scenarios are being floated by the world’s top energy experts, should the closure of Hormuz remain in force for even a few more weeks.
Someone summarized the situation aptly - to paraphase:

‘Iran has survived decades of the world’s sanctions, but the world could not survive two weeks of Iranian sanctions’”

#Hormuz, Japan’s #KyodoNews is reporting Iran’s foreign minister as saying.

It quoted #AbbasAraghchi as saying negotiations with Japan on the issue were ongoing.

He also said in the interview of Friday that “we have not closed the strait – it is open”, while stressing that #Tehran is seeking “not a ceasefire, but a complete, comprehensive and lasting end to the war”, Kyodo reported.

It quoted Araghchi as saying **Iran had not closed the strait of Hormuz** but had imposed restrictions on vessels belonging to countries involved in attacks against Iran, while offering assistance to others in the vital waterway amid heightened security concerns.

Araghchi said #Iran was prepared to ensure safe passage for countries such as #Japan if they coordinated with #Tehran, the report said.”

Pakistan plans to keep flooding the country with subsidised cheap solar power to replace oil. They could care less about Trump closing Hormuz with his ordinance incontinence.

Uruguay doesnt care, Ethiopia has banned gas cars.

Oil is forest fires and war.
Solar power is cheap.

Here's another block arriving, without fees, like everyday.

End oil, end wars, end trump, end billionairism.

Sheltering From Oil Shocks

Measures to reduce impacts on #households and #businesses (Pdf)

iea.org/reports/sheltering-fro…

About this report

The conflict in the #Middle East has created the largest supply disruption in the history of the global oil market, due to the near halt in shipping traffic through the Strait of #Hormuz. The loss of supply is having significant impacts in global markets, pushing up prices for crude oil above $100/barrel, and leading to much higher prices for some refined products – notably diesel, jet fuel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Concerns are growing about the impacts of higher prices on households, businesses and the broader economy.

In this report, the IEA details 10 demand-side options open to households, businesses and governments to shelter themselves from today’s oil shock and relieve the strains on affordability. These are based on the IEA’s longstanding expertise on #energy #security and on specific country examples.
