What strikes me about the companies building & promoting AI systems is how naïve their view of intelligence & thought is.
If they took time to read & understand any book on philosophy, they would be aware that there is no such thing a single answer.
Knowledge is multi-faceted, often contradictory, full of doubt & uncertainty, capable of many interpretations & opinions. There is no single "truth"
Douglas Adams' Deep Thought is a warning from SciFi illustrating the point!
Back in May 2019 I was having a solo walk in the park of a nearby town called Chester Le Street. I found a stone resting on an iron bench so I joined it and we enjoyed a peaceful half hour or so just lost in our own thoughts.
Not for the first time in my life I realised how Douglas Adams touched my life with #HHG2G

I'm recycling my Towel Day transition timeline from last year, since this year I'm on a new instance and all.
I had a hanging basket full of petunias in front of the house. It came crashing down over the weekend. Has anyone seen Arthur Dent? I'd like to have a word with him.
One does not read Hitchhiker's, one studies it. The best way to study it is to listen to the recordings of the original radio plays. Then study the often-contradictory reimaginings in the forms of the TV series, movies, video games, towels and, of course, the books. (Though for Eoin Colfer's extrapolation via the spirit world you're advised to wear a tea-cosy on your head to avoid infection.)
