Wires on Green, switches on Red filled riders with a sense of dread

Earlier today, the MBTA reported delays on the D Line, complete with the dreaded trolleys  standing by at stations, because of overhead power lines at Newton Center suddenly needing emergency repairs. On the Red line, riders had to get on buses to get between Braintree and Quincy Adams due to a switch problem at Braintree that also forced the dreaded standing by at stations, until the T realized, no, was time to roll those buses. The T reports both lines are back to normal.

Samsung extends green line policy until September 2025

In some regions, especially India, people were reporting green line issues either during use or after the software update. It was theorized that it was because the AMOLED flex cable that allows the display to perform may have been faulty under heat.

Earlier, Samsung had a free screen replacement for green line victims that lasted until the end of December 2024. Now, Samsung is planning to extend the policy until September 2025. This green line issue affects all phones that use AMOLED, Samsung or not, such as OnePlus and Google Pixel.

The full list of eligible phones, however, is not available, so victims will have to contact support to determine whether they’re entitled to the free screen replacement for their phone model. It is expected that at least the Galaxy S21 series is eligible.
