So a problem I have with images everywhere is that I need to crop them to various aspect ratio specifically for each application. I'd rather do that once in my photo editor and save one file with multiple ✨crop hints✨.

AFAIK, no image format supports this?!

On the web, this is called 'art direction'; you can f.e. specify an images with different aspect ratios for mobile and laptops. But this involves uploading multiple images.
