I was a dedicated user of #iPhone and #Samsung since beginning of the smartphone era. 2 years back I stumbled upon #GrapheneOS I bought a #Pixel flashed it with GrapheneOS and I never turned back. #googlefree #metafree #microsoftfree and #bigtechfree - for me it is a real digital freedom.

What I used to love about testing Linux was that Windows was installed and you could install Linux alongside it. So you could try it out or switch over at any time.

I'd love to have something like that for my Android Fairphone and @postmarketOS or @e_mydata or @LineageOS .

The main reason I use #Android is that it still allows me to use independent applications and app stores like #Fdroid or distros like #LineageOS. Stop Google's attempts totally comtrol your phone!

Good morning Fedi! I'm working on #degoogleing my life right now and moving to open source or privacy focused alternatives from not evil corporations. I think I've got most of the basics covered on a personal level, although more suggestions are welcome!
I'm (re)starting my #virtualassistant business from scratch, and I'm looking for open source tools to use and recommend to my clients. Is #BillionaireFreeBusiness a thing? My goal is to run my business 100% Google/Amazon/billionaire free, including servers. Unfortunately, I'm not able to self-host, and neither can a large portion of my potential client base.
I stumbled upon Odoo and it seemed like a dream come true... all in one open source with free then *very* reasonable (actually mind blowing) plans. But they use Google and Amazon (legacy) servers, although another company is listed first, I'm assuming that one's managing most of the European servers. And also Google analytics and a few other tools/integrations. Does anyone have suggestions for something similar that's #googlefree ?
What other #opensourcebusinesstools are you using? Particularly #CRM / #ERP type tools. And/ or individual tools for things like newsletters, Calendly and Drive alternatives (specifically for real-time file collaboration and storage), zoom alternatives, etc. Things that are user-friendly. Bonus points for eco friendly options!

This #PlayIntegrity stuff is really questionable. My banking app won't run on a #GoogleFree #LineageOS running #Android 16 with all the latest security updates. But a #GooglePlay device running Android 10 that was last updated in 2021 is approved. This is not a real #security check. This looks like a #gatekeeper #monopoly check.

I have been searching for an alternative to #Apple #iPad. It’s still quite tempting to buy e.g. used M1 Air as they are available in relatively low prices.

On the other hand, I really would like to try @volla #Tablet, but the price is bit slowing me down. I mean, I would be OK with the price tag if I could be sure I like it.

Do you have any experiences to share? Links to videos, blog posts etc.

I set up a throwaway Gmail address to set up my Android phone, and haven't looked at it since. I've deactivated as many Google processes on the phone as possible, and everything continues to work fine.

But I wish I'd got a phone that can be rooted and run alternate firmware, tho.

Do you have your own domain name? Even when you've pointed your MX records somewhere else you should still be able log in to Google Mail's WebUI to check their mailbox. If you don't have your own domain you'll change your e-mail address, you won't be able to route [email protected] somewhere else.
