Jeremy BassettQuite by accident, I discovered how to hide the toolbar that appears above the Google keyboard!
Previously, I had scoured the settings and forums in hopes of learning how to hide it, but had discovered no solution.
In the keyboard settings, select "Text correction", then toggle off the "Show suggestion strip" option.
If you care more about making the toolbar disappear than using the correction-suggestion function, your problem is solved!

Ivan Rychtář@[email protected] @rychlofky Já jako bývalý androiďák jsem samozřejmě jako první dal #googlekeyboard , ale nemožnost jí customizovat a dát si tam alespoň horní řádek s čísly, mě právě dovedla ke #swiftkey. Nativní taky nemá ten horní řádek s čísly, ale co už. #Swiftkey má jednoznačně lepší našeptávání a umí se učit, to u té nativní je tristní. Nicméně jeden čas jsem měl se #swiftkey problémy, tak jsem se kousnul a šel do té nativní a už to prostě měnit nebudu.
