Sure they have the user base because of IG, but it’s very plaintext at the moment. This will indeed just end up as IGs comments section and no more. Feels more like #GoogleBuzz than anything else.

Maybe the key to finding cool ppl on #mastadon is using lots of ironic and obscure #hashtags and then going down the rabbit hole to find the kind of people that #toot about #friendster and #myspace and #googlePlus and #googleBuzz and #googleHangouts instead of boring old #twitter... Sort of a #longTail strategy
