This is precisely the kind of thing we're talking about, when we're talking about #digitalSovereignty - even if Palantir wasn't a very dubious organisation, we still shouldn't be sending our citizens data to overseas orgs. The risks are too great, and the outcomes are permanent.

Rupert Murdoch’s TalkTV is spouting hatred and toxic lies. It takes pride in it, and pretends the rules matter but they do.

In the last 11 weeks, TalkTV has spouted transphobic hate – ignoring the law on broadcasting balance – while the regulator has looked the other way.

Ofcom must take action to stop TalkTV airing attacks on trans people without broadcasting the views of those who support trans rights.

TalkTV is Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News for the UK – a constant source of toxic hate and far-right lies. Over the last 11 weeks, TalkTV has been spouting transphobic hate again and again – totally ignoring the law on broadcasting balance. But the regulator has done nothing. Ofcom must take action to stop TalkTV airing attacks on trans people without broadcasting the views of those who support trans rights. And it’s up to us to make it happen. We know this works: just five months ago over 70,000 people complained to Ofcom after GB News aired a dangerous lie about the LGBTQ+ community.

Someone saying they don’t like me and people like me is free speech and I am free to speak too. *CW: Homophobia, hate speech GB News is no stranger to spouting hatred and toxic lies. They take pride in it, and pretend the rules don’t matter. But they do. And they must be enforced. On 22 January, Josh Howie, one of their presenters, repeated a dangerous homophobic slur that links the LGBTQ+ community to paedophilia. You can watch the video here. It’s clearly illegal to stir up hatred by broadcasting a poisonous myth. Like GB News, Howie thinks he’s above the law. But he’s wrong. And we’re going to show him how.
