San Francisco Bridge painting series 2026.

Currently 2 paintings posted, working on more. I do intend to do another bridge version later, based on a different photo, so I’ll to show those paintings (none done yet) in a new series for that photo when I have new work for it (wish me good luck!).

The image opportunity itself was via an evening boat ride my wife Sheila and I took on our so-far only trip to San Francisco a couple years ago, and the image opportunity itself came up suddenly as we crossed under bridge. We were inside the large wide windowed touring compartment, saw the developmenting angle of vision and rushed out on the outdoors viewing deck and started clicking away fast as I could and soon the angle and perspective and lighting was gone.

I’d call it good timing, but really it was plain old good fortune I was able to worm past the other folks, push the door open, and find a small clear spot of point of view. Oh, and already have my camera phone on, lol! 😊

Golden Gate Bridge - From The Edge

The Golden Gate Bridge is by estimation, the most photographed bridge in the world.
This image was captured on what was actually a cold day in February from the San Francisco side of the bridge.
The Golden Gate Bridge was completed in 1937. The bridge has become iconic and one of the very recognizable symbols of the State of California.

The South Tower

The Golden Gate bridge is said to be the most photographed bridge in the word. I can't say I blame anyone for taking pictures of this spectacular structure bridging San Francisco and Marin County.
The bridge has been iconic since the first day it opened back in May of 1937. I've walked, cycled, and have been under her while heading out into the Pacific on a fishing trip.
