Ah yeah, it's this one. Next to a very familiar barn (you've seen that one countless times in commercials)

Ok #osint #geolocation folks...

1) What is this building?
2) Where was I standing?
3) What is the antenna mast on top for? Can you identify the exact license, frequency band, etc?

CW guesses or answers to avoid spoilers.

@azonenberg my secret lair is a lot less secret when people post pics of it on the fediverse... thanks. >:[
@azonenberg I got the first two but the third, no idea where to begin with that! Let's see if someone gets it.
@synx508 let's see your answers for the first 2?
@azonenberg It's a hospital, and a healing centre, whatever that is. 2805-2855 Campus Drive, Plymouth MN 55441. Picture's taken from the road or footway by Residence Inn which Google calls Annapolis Cir N. There are two Canada Geese n the Google Street View, enjoying the nano-lake in parking area.

@azonenberg

  • Abbott Northwestern Emergency
  • Standing across the road between the driveway and a manhole cover at 45°00'36"N 93°27'04"W (pic attached)
  • I’m going to guess Part of the VMED-28/29 emergency 155.34/155.3475
  • Though… there is a heliport registered to ANW Hospital (MN10) but that’s in the town. But, some Nav aids and Automated services are listed as part of the airport comms.. one location mentioned is WX ASOS at MIC is listed at 8nm NW of the actual heliport which puts it close to here (though further north than medicine lake on the nav charts). Maybeeeeee it’s part of their network for this? But I’ll stick with my guess.

    @nikolaihampton I was actually standing in the strip mall parking lot a few feet back from the mark but I'll let it slide lol. (About where teh squished looking blue car is in your shot)

    I don't actually know what the antenna is for, was hoping someone would tell me :p it's the best idea I've seen to date

    @azonenberg I wasn’t sure how far back but I thought the “line” was about right given the parallax of the light poles against the building.

    Funny story about using rhat technique. I lost my wallet while walking around in Rockpools near the Australian Gold Coast. These rock pools were about 200m long maybe 30m wide. My wallet went missing sometime during a two hour visit.

    So I went back to my photos to retrace my steps. I looked at my first photo and could get a parallax alignment between a flagpole and a specific brick on a building. I was close enough that I could move my head 10cm and see the difference in the angle… confident in my location, I looked down and my wallet was nestled between rocks, immediately beside my feet - zero exaggeration, it was right beside my foot, pretty much in line with my pocket.
