Previous work has shown that plants with larger genomes tend to grow faster under nutrient enrichment than those with smaller genomes, but how universal is this effect? A study of data from 27 diverse coordinated grassland nutrient addition experiments suggests that genome size is indeed informative and improves predictions of speciesβ success in grassland communities.
πΏThe article shows how genome size and carbohydrate storage are intricately linked in different plant strategies, shedding light on how plants adapt to their environments.
