Last #FungiFriday I posted the Artist’s Conk mushrooms I found and how I should have etched a message in the fresh undersides. Well I returned and… someone beat me to it! That someone was Daisy. Though it seems Daisy tore off a chunk rather than keeping the mushroom intact. #mushroom #fungi #pilze #Ganodermaapplanatum #mushtodon

Found some gorgeous, fresh Artist’s Conks growing like crazy out of a dead tree trunk. Was very tempted to etch all sorts of messages on the undersides.

As a follow-up to yesterday’s https://mastodon.social/@danmccullough/111381012956129159 I was able to bushwhack my way to the mushrooms.

There were 2 large Oyster mushrooms (12 inches across), and several Artist’s Conks. The neat thing about the Conks is that they’re pointed upward (which made them look weird in my original post). They were on the tree well before it fell into the brook, hence the old angle.
