With our #tulips so getting trashed by squirrels we started preemptively cutting them before they got chomped, and bringing them indoors.

A sparse couple have managed to open outdoors without meeting rodent teeth too, so that's a nice bonus.

A lot of people in our neighborhood have either set up
#PollinatorGardens, converted their yards from grass to natives or have scattered pollinator-attractants in their yards. Later in the season, when all of them are in full flower, our vegetable #gardens and ornamentals are usually swarming with all manner of native and domesticated pollinators.

We also have a few people keeping
#honeybee hives in their yards, so, lots of honeybees visit our yard, too.

Overall, it's a really good, busy mix. Only down-side is that
#wasps are part of that mix and my wife is deathly allergic to them. In addition to keeping her #EpiPens up-to-date, we had my mom knit us a couple fake hornet's nests for the front and back porches. They seem to do a decent job of encouraging the paper-wasps to nest elsewhere. The carpenter bees don't seem to pay them any mind, though.

We were at the Berkeley Botanical Gardens about two weeks ago, and tucked in on one structure was this amazing moth. Almost passed it right by.
