My end-of-month peep into the greenhouse for September shows that the tomatoes and cucumbers have gone but the sweet peppers are still cropping. Two big troughs that had tomatoes in them have been lifted onto the staging in readiness for overwintering tender perennials. I practically bury them in the same dryish soil that the tomatoes grew in. Pots of herbs and some young sweet William plants can be seen on the right. Most of the spray-on shading has been removed.
