In case you haven't already seen, the petition on the petition.parliament.uk against the introduction of compulsory digital ID cards has reached ~1.7 million signatures at the time of us writing this post ✊
Do not introduce Digital ID cards
If you're a British citizen or UK resident, please kindly do consider signing this if you haven't already done so 
This isn't some "good faith" effort by the government: it's patently being done for nefarious reasons, including:
- Infringing upon the human rights of migrants (both documented and undocumented) and asylum seekers, and making their lives even more difficult.
- Further eroding the rights of trans+ people within the UK by embedding either a binary gender marker (urgh!) or "sex" (urgh!) assigned at birth flag on there.
- Giving the state greater surveillance abilities and powers of the lives of everyday citizens, particularly the poor, the marginalised, and any dissenters.
If nothing else, the recent £1.5 billion GBP "strategic partnership" that the UK government has formed with US company Palantir should raise serious alarm bells over data privacy, data security, and data protection
