UK digital ID is sold as "data minimisation", yet the consultation says it would include full name, date of birth, nationality and a facial image, while omitting sex/gender. The Easy Read version even includes a feature to ensure you're called by the "right name".
Privacy by design, or politics by design?
Europe's digital ID push is speeding up. The EU wallet is coming, Ireland is testing its Government Digital Wallet, and age verification is joining the stack. Officials call it convenient and privacy-preserving. I see a system that could quietly become normalised everywhere.

Digital ID Just Got A LOT Worse
Emeritus Prof Christopher MayYou know that a policy is in trouble when not only is it scaled back, but the justification shifts around (searching for something that will *actually* appeal to voters)...
So the UK's Digital ID project was intended initially to deal with the issue of migration, then was going to aid access to benefits, but (Darren Jones, now heading up the project) tells us now it will help reduce populism's appeal.
Yup Digital ID is a solution looking for a problem!

AltairIt is obvious that #CBDC's will be implemented along with the #DigitalID so the question here is how to survive in such a utopian society. The hope that people will oppose this measures is little to no, by my personal opinion. So called "Free Society" will no longer exist if #DigitalMoney become a reality
