There were several of these creepy-crawlies in our garden this year. I think it's a cricket, only mildly creepy on my disgusto-scale. Much less than a mole cricket, which I wouldn't inflict upon you here even with a content warning 🤢 (don't look it up)
This one really gave me a bit of a fright, even though I was looking for it. Our cellar is open for air flow most of the year, but we close it up when it gets too cold. I remembered seeing a bat flying around the entrance, so we wanted to make sure we won't trap it there. It was just sleeping, hanging down from a brick, which I have no idea how it got a grip on. Look at those little feetsies 🥹
(Don't worry, we left a small opening for it to fly out.)
Another creepy-crawly for #Spooktober - brought inside on the rim of a bucket I used for weeds. Decided not to add content warning this time, hopefully it won't scare anyone too much. Honestly, I can't decide if it's creepy or beautiful 🤔

Forget the news, get frightened by creepy insects! There were a lot of praying mantises visiting us this year (managed to prevent Kitty-boo from crunching on any), but this one was willing to pose for a nice portrait 😄 I keep being amazed and creeped out at the same time at these weirdos.
