Another excellent, in-depth article on the state of the #FrenchBroad river in the #Asheville area, after #Helene. Apparently a good deal of the river is looking pretty good (if you're careful where you look) but I wouldn't set foot in it for a while personally.

I know they desperately want tourists back...

We knew this was happening, yet wrenching nonetheless. My fav little park, next door to the beautiful #coffee spot on the #FrenchBroad river in #Woodfin north of #Asheville is going to be “improved” into a tourist/kayak/wave attraction.

Trees coming down, lots of parking, the river being disrupted. People, people, people.

Damn them to hell. Expanding and sprucing the park, making a better spot to put in kayaks would have been sufficient. But no, now we get an “attraction.”

A pleasant Sunday stop at #HighFive coffee along the #FrenchBroad in #Asheville #NC. We had a hot chai, as it wasn't much above 80 and actually quite wonderful here.

The photo seems like #SilentSunday but you can't hear the kid screaming "I caught a fish!" with the 2" long fingerling on their hook, or the baby making loud birdlike cries. Ah, family outings!

Really a lovely spot. With refreshments.

Another chai along the #FrenchBroad river in #Asheville, led to a black and white #photo, which brought me to playing with #ColorSplash, the very first app I ever put on my iPhone. Still fun, after all these years.
