On Sunday, 22 March 2026, from 11am to 6pm, the Berlin Gastro Solidarity Network will gather at Markthalle Neun for A Taste of Solidarity – a fundraising and community event based on collective action.

The day will take the form of a curated market for food, drinks and selected products, accompanied by panels and workshops throughout the hall.

Together with chefs, restaurateurs, artists, beverage producers and members of the market hall community, we are creating a space that highlights how closely food, trade and global inequalities are intertwined.

Alongside the open market, a series of talks and lectures will take place, addressing the ongoing genocide in G@za, the occupied Palestinian territories and Sudan.

Experts from various disciplines will shed light on selected key topics.

Am Sonntag, den 22. März 2026, von 11–18 Uhr versammelt sich das Berlin Gastro Solidarity Network in der Markthalle Neun zu A Taste of Solidarity – einer Fundraising und Community Veranstaltung, die auf kollektives Handeln gründet.

Der Tag wird als kuratierter Markt für Speisen, Getränke und ausgewählte Produkte gestaltet, begleitet von Panels und Workshops in der gesamten Halle.

Gemeinsam mit Köch:innen, Gastronom:innen, Künstler:innen, Getränkeproduzent:innen und Mitgliedern der Markthallen Community schaffen wir einen Raum, der sichtbar macht, wie eng Essen, Handel und globale Ungleichheiten miteinander verflochten sind.

Begleitend zum offenen Markt findet eine Reihe von Gesprächen und Vorträgen statt, die sich mit dem anhaltenden Völkermord in G@za, den besetzten pal. Gebieten sowie dem Sudan auseinandersetzen.

Shajane, Maha, Muzamil, Khatab, and the voice of poet Chaikhoon form a cinematic chorus—young, politically defiant, and artistically fearless.

Blending intimate storytelling with sweeping political urgency, Sudan, Remember Us captures the uneven struggle between the fire of militias and the unbreakable voices of the people.

It’s a tribute to the power of words—and a reminder that freedom is a fight born first in the imagination.

The film will be followed by a Q&A with the director, Hind Meddeb (online), and a representative from Sudan Uprising.

„Sudan, Remember Us“ ist ein eindringliches Porträt einer Generation, die der Poesie den Vorzug vor dem Schweigen und der Fantasie den Vorzug vor der Angst gab.

Shajane, Maha, Muzamil, Khatab und die Stimme des Dichters Chaikhoon bilden einen filmischen Chor – jung, politisch rebellisch und künstlerisch furchtlos.

„Sudan, Remember Us“ verbindet intimes Geschichtenerzählen mit weitreichender politischer Dringlichkeit und fängt den ungleichen Kampf zwischen dem Feuer der Milizen und den unerschütterlichen Stimmen des Volkes ein.

Es ist eine Hommage an die Kraft der Worte – und eine Erinnerung daran, dass Freiheit ein Kampf ist, der zuerst in der Vorstellungskraft entsteht.

Im Anschluss an den Film findet eine Fragerunde mit der Regisseurin Hind Meddeb (online) und einem Vertreter von Sudan Uprising statt.
