I took this photograph from the John Street Lawn (a small park) in DUMBO, Brooklyn, on the morning of June 6, 2026 (see park location: https://www.openstreetmap.org/?#map=19/40.704914/-73.987762). The blue bridge in the foreground is the Manhattan Bridge, and its overpass perfectly frames the Manhattan Skyline (the Freedom Tower and City Hall are both visible). You can also see the Brooklyn Bridge in the background.

I bought this 19mm Elmarit-R II new sometime back in the 1990s, and I rediscover it every few years as each time it shows its still-compelling stuff on whatever camera body I'm honeymooning with that year. In this photo, I'm definitely enjoying the magic of having the lens's turret of internal filters to choose from, as the "Or" (orange) one punches up the cloud/sky contrast here.

I took these two photos at 7:34 and 7:36 PM on May 4, 2025 from the Fruit Street Sitting Area in Brooklyn Heights (NYC). This is between the Brooklyn Heights Promenade and the long hill leading down to DUMBO and Brooklyn Bridge Park. As you can see, it was very foggy that evening and the fog obscured the Manhattan Skyline. In the bottom-right corner of the second photo you can see a wooden bridge which leads down to Brooklyn Bridge Park.
