#Mozilla warns #Firefox users to update browsers to the latest version to avoid facing disruption and security risks caused by the upcoming expiration of one of the company's #rootcertificates.
Mozilla certificate expires this Friday, March 14, 2025, and was used to sign content, including add-ons for various Mozilla projects and Firefox itself.
Users need to update to #Firefox128 (released in July 2024) or later and ESR 115.13 or later for 'Extended Support Release'.

Lo de #firefox128 lo veo feo porque viene activado por defecto.

Dicho esto, la idea me parece maravillosa. Lo que han desarrollado (no sólo Mozilla, también Cloudflare e Internet Security Research Group) es un sistema descentralizado de agregación de datos de actividad de los usuarios, manteniendo a los usuarios anónimos. Cuando dicen que en lugar de trackearte los anunciantes el navegador toma el control, no se refieren a Mozilla como organización, se refieren al cliente, a firefox. Y es que no hacen falta servidores de Mozilla para que funcione el protocolo.

Solo he empezado a leerme el borrador del protocolo pero me pinta muy bien.

There are many situations in which it is desirable to take measurements of data which people consider sensitive. In these cases, the entity taking the measurement is usually not interested in people's individual responses but rather in aggregated data. Conventional methods require collecting individual responses and then aggregating them, thus representing a threat to user privacy and rendering many such measurements difficult and impractical. I'm wondering, for the #Firefox / #Firefox128 ad impressions aggregator / #PPA, wouldn't it make more sense to have this on the/each website serving the ads? Instead of one central entity, namely #Mozilla?
Also, why does it want a count from everyone? Wouldn't a few samples be sufficient?

I just switched from Brave to Firefox and now they do this. What browser could we even use at this point ? It seems they are all shady in one way or another.
