and he lets you hire mercenaries which are generic NPC units that you can use to fill in your team if like you play on classic mode and lose a lot of units or something… I think it’d be a neat idea to utilize and would do what Shadow Dragon tried with the paralouges but a lot better…

#FireEmblem #FireEmblemShadowDragon #FireEmblemFortunesWeave

and it’s also just the concept that I outlined above cause Falchion and Tiki are good to use on the final boss… I did actually use this trick to access it… probably the only time I’d intentionally let a unit die TBH… also unrelated but I feel like they should have an FE game where at like a certain point you meet some mercenary chief named like “Vandham” for example

#TikiFireEmblem #fireemblemShadowDragon #FireEmblemFortunesWeave #FireEmblem

cause like this game shoves new units down your throat so having it so you have less than 15 before the next chapter would mean you’d HAVE to sacrifice a ton of units for it… it just doesn’t seem worth it… especially cause at a certain point in Fire Emblem games you’re just using your final team for the whole map anyways so… like I get how it was done to help any newcomers to the game but like I don’t even think it does it well… frankly it should have been something like

#FireEmblemShadowDragon

Ha, hahahaha, it is done.

Sweet Jesus. I never want to pick this game up again. Or if I do. It will be in about... 10 or so years' time.

#FireEmblemShadowDragon has become my 35th #RetroAchievements Mastery, and with that finished, I can now move onto something else.

I'm not sure what I will move into next. I need to clean up Mario Bros 3, which will be a decent time, and I have fallen behind on YouTube recordings. So, illness has stopped from jumping back on camera, but that is clearing up.

I'm... Nearly done.... so close to that Mastery.

It's going to be another two days of plugging away, I think.

#FireEmblemShadowDragon #RetroAchievements mastery was the biggest mistake I ever made...

So, I feel I should probably go into some explanation about how and why Sedgar and Wolf are broken in #FireEmblemShadowDragon

For the uninitiated, in #FireEmblem, when a character levels up, their stats have a random chance to increase. Each character has a growth rate, and on level up, a random number is generated to see if that stat will increase.

Original Fire Emblem 1 is pretty wild with some of the numbers, with late game character Est having growth rates of 70% in all stats besides defense. Which is only 20%.
In fact, the average defense growth is about 20%

Skip forward to Shadow Dragon. In Shadow Dragon, you can reclass unit and units provide their own tweaks to character growths.
Sedgar as a General, a heavily armoured but slow Knight has the following growths.

HP: 180
Strength: 75
Skill (accuracy): 100
Speed: 60
Defense: 110
Luck: 30

In the instance of a growth being over 100, yes, it does mean it can go up by +2 on level up.
In Shadow Dragon, Defence is king.

So, I'm going to be taking a break from the more physically intense games like Mario Kart for a while and play something that is slower and more mentally involved. This will make it easier for me to pull away from the action and actually respond to the wife, instead of giving the usual, 'just a second, Darling', response she is no doubt getting fed up with.

For the next while, outside of YouTube channel shenanigans, I will be playing #FireEmblemShadowDragon the DS remake of the original #FireEmblem

It might also cut down on the under the breath cursing I have been doing, but that is no guarantee, as I am already starting to question my own life choices and the choices of the developers.

This is my own fault for attempting the game on Merciless Difficulty. But I could do with some more brain expanding, dice rolling exercises in my life right now.

I might also learn a thing or two that I can apply to my SRPG Studio project.
