And while we're at it - completely unrelated, but MADE MY DAY: It turns out the Bergen Public Library also has a copy of the #Danish #EthicaComplementoria from 1678! I did not know that despite crawling library catalogues regularly. I guess it is due to the fact that #SpecialCollections are still not fully findable via online catalogues... What a pleasant surprise!
My post about #ExLibris on #Friday created a bit of traffic, perhaps I stick to this kind of content?! I have materials for the next 48 years 😅!
On a different matter, I am delighted to announce that the #DigitalScholarlyEdition of the #EthicaComplementoria print from 1643 is now available on the #DTA #DeutschesTextarchiv https://www.deutschestextarchiv.de/book/show/nn_ethica_1643!
Read the text or download it. You can also get some analytics, like the most frequent words: Sache (thing), Rede (speech), Herr (Mr./man). Bullseye!
Deutsches Textarchiv – Ethica Complementoria. Nürnberg. 1643

@emdiplomacy @historikerinnen @histodons @earlymodern Finally ordered for #UniOslo library and soon to be read for the #EthicaComplementoria project, a hans-on guide on how to navigate and master social situations, especially on the diplomatic scene!
Today, I will present our progress w/ the bilingual #DigitalScholarlyEdition of the #Danish #EthicaComplementoria prints from 1674 + 1678!
I'm happy to be invited to speak for the #Bookhistory research group at #UniOslo.
We've successfully transcribed & tagged 600+ pages (using #Transkribus for #AutomaticTextRecognition helped tremendously!) & are about to map them onto the #DeutschesTextarchiv #DTA base format. We'll make some adjustments for publication w/ #Bokselskap https://www.bokselskap.no/

🧵 2/ Continuing the morning w/ interviews to find a new research assistant for my bilingual #EthicaComplementoria #DSE to help quality check the #Markup and #Annotations and prepare the TEI/XML export from #Transkribus.
The Dept. of Archaeology, Conservation and History has many eager master students who expressed interest in working on the project. Exciting!
Today's #ResearchSupportPartnershipUiO is mainly scheduling guidance sessions for the following weeks!
That's quite alright; I got to have lunch w/ my colleagues & answered questions regarding @zotero & how to get #OCR'ed reference lists into #Zotero using #AnystyleIO https://anystyle.io/.
We talked about the new #SustainableDSEs network.
I finalised and distributed a job offer for a research assistant to help me finish the bilingual #DigitalScholarlyEdition of the #EthicaComplementoria.
AnyStyle.io

AnyStyle.io parses your biblographies or lists of references regardless of citation style and and turns them into structured, bibliographic data.

Tiny follow-up: my application for 20% research time for 2024 was accepted!! I will continue w/ the #NorKorr #EdvardMunch #Correspondence project, i.e. publish the Data Paper & start a larger study on mapping #DigitalScholarlyEditions at the #UniOslo & greater Oslo area! Excited!!
I will also continue working on preparing the Danish #EthicaComplementoria for publication; I have some funds for an assistant to help with creating a proper #TEI document based on #Transkribus transcription.
Good morning! It looks like today is my last work day this year, not by choice, but by Covid, which now has befallen yet another family member...
Anyways! Thanks for listening in on my ramblings about #ResearchSupportPartnershipUiO, #EthicaComplementoria and #NorKorr. I promise some cool stuff for 2024 and frequent posts with a new hashtag #BærUt #SustainableDSEs
Seasonal greetings and a happy new year. Back in #January!
This is, by the way, **exactly** how I look when I use #HTR #Transkribus to work on the #EthicaComplementoria #DigitalScholarlyEdition. Just saying 😉
I spent the morning closing tickets for my #EthicaComplementoria edition of the 1643 print at the #DeutschesTextarchiv. It's finally done, and now I am waiting for the text to be released to the public! Exciting!!
Once it is, I will write a longer blog post on https://greflinger.hypotheses.org/ about what I did, how, and why it took such a long time. Stay tuned!
