Eight for Silver

Written and directed by Sean Ellis; starring Boyd Holbrook, Alistair Petrie, Roxane Duran, Kelly Reilly

France, 1882. After his men murder a band of gypsies to steal their land, a curse falls upon a landlord’s family.

The film has some gruesome horror moments nicely enhanced by the period setting.
But the plot lacks drive, the cast is bland and Sean Ellis’s directing skills feel ill-suited to the genre.
