This is where we diverge, I think. After years of trying I haven't seen any evidence we can just keep on fulfilling every new want manipulative advertising creates AND stop #EarthBreakdown. The ecological problem is not just climate change, but the transgression of 6 out of 9 planetary boundaries.

@lil5 In my view, #EarthBreakdown is a vastly interconnected problem caused by our destructive economy and ideals on what is a desirable mode of living.
COP is a place where the (in)actions of the previous year for only one part of the problem, are summed. The work needs to have already be done, or delayed, before the meeting.
From this analysis of the problem, overshadowing greenwashing to build solidarity between the climate movement and other counter-hegemonic struggles is a good tradeoff.
To have a chance to stop #EarthBreakdown, we who benefit from IML need to have the courage to re-evaluate our entire way of life.
Not only is IML ethically corrupt, to claim "I can enjoy my imperial lifestyle but you can never hope to get the same" isn't politically possible.
